PHOTOGRAPHS are the window to your home. The manner in which you present your home is vital to secure interest, viewings, offers and realising the best possible price for your property.


VIEWINGS are where prospective buyers hope to achieve that ‘feeling’. Hence, it is really important that your home is presented in the best possible manner for all viewings.



Below is a Guide to help you give the right First and Second Impression




Front and Rear Gardens – clear weeds, cut the lawn, sweep the path; tend to any hedges and borders. Keep it neat!


Remove dustbins and anything else unsightly from view or straighten them up. Keep it tidy!


Clean the windows and doorstep.


Clear leaves and cobwebs away from the outside doors.


Tidy away hoses, tools and small toys.


Keep washing off the line.

For photographs - remove all vehicles from the driveway.


When you are expecting a viewing make sure there is parking available for them.






Tidy away all coats, shoes and bags from the hallway or porch.



People like hall storage cupboards and it the one they are likely to open – declutter it!

Put letters, brochures and magazines away.


Clear all sides and clean worktops and surfaces


Clean and clear sink and drainer, hide away all washing aids including scoures, cloths towels andoven gloves unless accessorized and co-ordinating, minimilize everything you keep on the sides, sweep and vacuum floors, keep floor spaces clear, remove pet bowls, leads and accessories.. Place vacuum cleaner, ironing board and washing out of view.

Open all curtains properly and ensure blinds are straight


Make beds and put away personal belongings; including all clothes


Leave the toilet seat down


Pull shower curtain back or clean the screen glass

Put away toothpaste and such like.


Place preferably colour co-ordinated and clean towels neatly.
